Volunteers throughout the community contribute to the growth and development of Zachariah’s Acres.¬† We welcome and encourage groups to get involved or to suggest an idea for a project of their very own.

Community partners who have donated time, ideas, materials, funds, and skills include Power Test of Sussex, Cielo, Kohl’s IT Team, Tailored Label, Inc., Miller-Coors, The Prestwick Group, Spring Creek Church, YMCA at Pabst Farms, &¬†many more.


Service Group Guidelines

Monday-Friday between 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.

The maximum size group we can currently accommodate is 30 people.

The minimum age for volunteers is 12 years of age.

We require a ratio of 1 adult per 5 youth (18 and under).

Come ready to work hard! Service group projects vary but may include manual labor tasks such as clearing brush, weeding & watering the gardens, planting, cleaning, etc.

Zachariah’s Acres has facilitated the completion of 19 Eagle Scout Candidate projects!

Current Project Needs:

Raised boardwalk
Small boat dock
Portable vegetable wash stations
Split rail fence installation
A bound nature guide and map
Accessible raised garden beds
